Crochet Along: Week Eight Update
I’m pretty happy about this weeks update because it’s the final update before the reveal! The next time I post about this blanket, it will be to show you the finished piece! This was actually a really quick blanket, and it served to teach me some things.
For example, I really don’t like sewing pieces to gather that don’t have a border, if that makes sense. From now on, I’ll be adding at least one or two single crochet rounds to any squares I plan on joining, whether the pattern calls for it or not. It’s just easier to assemble and it looks much nicer.
I also learned there’s only so much easing you can do, before things start to look bunched.
Lesson 3, block. I knew better than to assemble before blocking, but I just couldn’t wait. So instead of blocking small manageable squares, a few at a time, I’ll be blocking one giant piece. It will be fine, but it will take more pins and more time. Ugh.
And here’s close-ups of each square. Some of these patterns I really loved, some not so much.
And that’s my update for the week. Next time, the reveal!
